2 stars I've tried to like this album, I really have. And although I sometimes find Dagmar Krause and her sometimes shrill vocals to be a detriment, she actually sounds good on the album, so she wasn't the problem. The problem is that this album just isn't very interesting. I understand the roots of the band, and expected something more avant garde than this. What we have here are slightly inventive pop songs. The addition of the members of Faust doesn't help either.

Of the original eleven songs on the album, the only one that draws me in is Casablanca Moon. With it's cool lyrics and jazzy rhythm, it's a good song. But it's not avant garde either.

The four bonus tracks are even less interesting. It sound on these that Slapp Happy was trying to imitate the style of Deborah Harry and Blondie. Blah.
