The first VANILLA FUDGE is perhaps the proto-type of proto-prog, ha ha! Seriously, a heavy psychedelic sound, covering the then popular hits is really a groundbreaking effort. And it sounds very good even today! You can't beat the Hammond, bass, drums and electric guitar, to paraphrize Lou Reed! :)
