3 stars The very first Genesis album I listened to was "Foxtrot". I actually found it so amazing that I was eager to discover more Genesis albums. That's when I came across "Selling England By The Pound". In general, the album runs smoothly, with great passages and outstanding vocals (the second track being a great example of this). Nonetheless, I believe it lacks the complexity and musical richness of "Foxtrot" or other symphonic prog albums, like "Close To The Edge" by Yes or even "Trilogy" by ELP. I must admit that besides "Foxtrot", I was never attonished by any other Genesis album. Maybe, their music is not my type of prog.
