2 stars Acoustic guitar which Coryell hadn't recorded with for a few years is the main instrument on this stripped down release. The album title is ambitious, some titles too but the ultimate execution is quite sterile and forgettable, in particular given the vast acoustic guitar output by Coryell. The music acts sleepy. This could be due to the fact that playing classical music on one instrument when one knows the original rich version is bound to be challenging. In the example of the classical music piece Rodeo, the listener is better served by the Emerson, Lake and Palmer ornate version. Only recommended to completionists.
