A tab in the Ocean adds bands additional musical performance to their previous psychedelic album Journey. From this point of view, personally, it is one of the favorites form Nektar. Album consists of four songs with my personal favorites "A Tab in the Ocean" and Destination Valley.

Heading song "A tab in the Ocean" starts with ocean waves and then very powerful, epic entrance of organ. It is followed by the Journey type of vocal and lyrics. After the transition with good guitar and drum harmony, relatively soft section starts with lyrics followed "Falling I am only falling?". In this section great performance of vocal accompanied with great harmony of guitar and drum (a characteristic of the band). After this, repeated guitar riffs starts till the end of the song. Personally, this section of the song can be improved by transition from slow and fast sections like next song Destination. Still, music implies some kind of fight of the mind itself. As "the mind" is the main theme of the band throughout first two albums. After this instrumental back vocal added section. The last part of the song starts with good soft electric guitar performance and again improved vocan with starting lyrics of "Soon now as night turns in to day?" Then song ends with the same very powerful introduction.

Second song looks very shiny in the album. Starting with the awesome bass- guitar arrangements and Doors like riffs. Then a repetaded guitar theme as characterics starts and there is noticeable jazz influence. Later electric guaitar durms harmony goes on with repeated sections again. Moving from slow and fast sections continuously, personally, makes great contribution the song. There is Floydian style at the end of the song and refering the previous song with lyrics.

Crying in the Dark startes different wah-style guitar returning to the repeated guitar and drum section again a sign of the album. Some hard rock/ blues type guitar riffs introduced later. Then organ section starts with accompany of great use of electric guitar. Then sng with electric guitar jam.

King of the Twilight starts the sound similar to the previous album Journey with strong bass influence. Then starting a powerfull section with guitar and drums accompanied with vocals and making song a bit powerfull with electric sound.

As whole, this album musically adds very much to the journey and helps band o develop its own unique style of prog.
