Desertion Trio biography
Desertion Trio are a Philadelphia / New York base experimental jazz trio led by guitarist Nick Millevoi. Their albums have been extremely varied featuring instrumental jazz, cover from 50's & 60's to avant math noise rock. Nick Millevoi has featured in a number of different projects including skronky power trios Many Arms & Form & Mess. The bassist Johnny DeBlase is also of the NY/Philly skronky avant jazz scene as a member of Zevious & Many Arms. The drummer on the first two albums, Midtown Tilt & Twilight Time is Kevin Shea with a switch to Jason Nazary on their third album, Numbers Maker. Noisey described the band's sound as, "Supremely weird desert noir," and NPR Music said the band, "Hits the sweet spot between Neil Young's exploratory Crazy Horse jams and a spaghetti western soundtrack."
