Absconditus biography
Absconditus are a French progressive black metal duo based in Paris and formed in 2010 by guitarist/bassist Charles "Loxias" d'Ocres and drummer Alexandre "Anderswo" Vignaud. Both played in defunct ensemble Borgia, founding Absconditus after its dissolution to pursue a similarly occult-themed avant-garde metal, inspired by the pioneering style of Deathspell Omega.

Following a one-track demo in 2012, Absconditus signed to I, Voidhanger Records, which released their debut (and so far sole) album, Kατάβασις, in 2015. D'Ocres' lyrics are performed by session vocalist Aliexagore, with the album's loose concept self-described as "the initiatic path that one has to walk in order to gain freedom and mastery over existence in a demiurgic world."
