Species Being biography
A US spacey avantgarde ensemble SPECIES BEING were founded in 1997 upon The San Francisco Bay Area by Frank GRAU (drums), who had already been active as a founder of BEYOND-O-MATIC and a drummer of SLEEPYTIME GORILLA MUSEUM later. He recruited two Beyond-O-ers STENZO and Rev. Peter FUHRY for the achievement of his strong intention to create original grooves blended with avantgarde rock motivated by RIO movement and space rock like another combo of theirs, and they released the debut shot "Yonilicious" in 1998 via GrauSpace Music / Jamaelot Recording, followed by "Orgone Therapy" in 2000 with members dramatically replaced except Frank. After several years of touring and two releases above, SPECIES BEING were disbanded in 2002, due to Frank's joining SLEEPYTIME GORILLA MUSEUM in 2001.
