A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON

A Momentary Lapse of Reason marked the change of Pink Floyd to a more subtle and atmospheric sound than all their predecessors. Yet, their music is still high quality and it contains elements of new Floyd, more use of synthesizer and old Floyd, the classic Gilmour guitar sound and percussions and sax. My favorite songs in the album are 5, the opening "Signs of Life", "Learning to Fly", "Dogs of War", "On the Turning Away" and "Sorrow". Although David Gilmour takes over the band in a perfect way, the participation of the rest of the musicians is moderate but accurate, Nick Mason and Rick Wright have good participation, Tony Levin, Carmine Appice and the rest of the band, as guest members, complement the album to make it sound very different from the others.
