5 stars An absolute masterpiece of modern music,"In rock" opened completely new territories in exploration of guitar soundscapes at the end of psychedelic era of the sixties. Not a real heavy riff was heard ever before this monster, paving road for countless imitators and guitar hero wannabes. All seven original songs are considered classics, including "Hard lovin' man"which is probably first ever staccato riff.Even "Child in time",with its hammond ladden main theme(which is,by the way, stolen from It's a beautiful day's self titled first album) is a major accomplishment, although, somehow it doesn't fit ultra heaviness of the rest of the album.Remastered version of the album is also the ultimate version to get, includin Roger Glover remixes of "Flight of the rat","Speed king" and hit single"Black night".Amazing
