5 stars I am a student of psychology and a friend fan of progressive rock recommended to me this album knowing that I like calm and relaxing music. But I never thought that this album had such a deep feeling. I was reading a book at night and I put the album in play, the first music seemed good. But when began " Pale White Dot" I was impressed and i simple stop to reading the book because the solo of flute was so full of feeling so deep that i simply began to look by the window to the sky, to nature, to everything. It seemed that I was feeling all the beauty of the universe from the birth to the death. I found curious a reviewer have put the question of this to be a conceptual album, I also think that this is a conceptual album. Or perhaps this is a conceptual album inside another conceptual album. Or perhaps a conceptual infinite album as the universe. My thought perhaps been derived from the fact of being a student of psychology is that Almagest is influenced for the Erikson's theory " Stages of psychosocial development " and can be connected straightly with the music and with the titles of same. Murmurs is Infancy and is related in the music by the simplicity and for the absence of communication Pale White Dot it is divided in three parts like in the music, first Younger Years, second Early Childhood and third Middle Childhood. Low Mass Stars is the most complex music of the album and represents the adolescence, the most complicated phase of the whole theory of Erikson's. Spirit Of The Water is Early Adulthood and it represents several ways that we can follow at that time of our lives, like in the theory that compares Intimacy vs. Isolation. Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors is related with Middle Adulthood and represent the concern of guiding the next generation but the end of the music proves that there also can be stagnation. The last track Cosmos Celestial Movement is Later Adulthood to Death, but the death related with the music is like if the death was the release for the total union with the universe. And the Celestial Movement was the final movement of our souls to reach the Cosmos.

For now I make a record of "Almagest" in a cd because I do not find it for sale but I expect one day to have it in a official edition because this is not only an album it is an ode to the Humanity and to the Cosmos, that many people will not be able to understand.
