Pretentious? maybe... but original. I think Rick Wakeman was a pioneer. He brought the keyboards to their top expression. This album shows that. When I was about 13 years old I found "The Battle/The Forest" in a compilation. That track impressed me. I knew new sounds, new tones. For me, it was a travel into a new world: the pompous symphonic rock. After that, I began to listening to symphonic rock. Then, this album was essencial for my formation. Great tribute to Julio Verne

(1) "The Journey / Recollection": the first track of this album is calm, melodious. It introduces the 'leit motiv' melodies that will be developed in the second track. Maybe, the vocals are not the better, but the result is still great. I love the brass section and the percussion.****

(2) "The Battle / The Forest": I love this work. This track shows the band complete (in the first track the band was 'hidden'). The keyboards are majestic. They fly my head! As regards the music, there are furious and quiet parts, all of them well placed. The choir gives emotion; the orchestra gives suspense. I really love this track. It has many things to be valued.*****

Average Rate: 4.5 stars

I think I must to classify this album as a masterpiece because it was very important for the genre.
