5 stars I'm torn here. The five star rating says that the album must be a 'masterpiece of progressive music', which this certainly is not. It is masterpiece of rock. Many fans resent this album (and Trevor Rabin) for steering Yes into more pop-rock territories, but the way I see it is that this album was not originally intended to be a Yes album; the fact that it contained four former members still does not make it Yes. It was originally intended to be 'Cinema, and that's what I see it as. It still has some Yes-esque touches, but the heart of the album lies in pop-rock that became so popular in the eighties. If you are a fan of 80s music such as Asia, you'll love this. At first, I was pessimistic about this album, but when I saw it for 4 Euros whilst holidaying in Germany, I thought I'd give it a try. After the first familiar track (Owner of a Lonely Heart), it came straight in with 'Hold On', and then it struck me: this album is sheer brilliance. There is not one weak track on here, not even the two-minute 'Cinema'. If you're a big fan of Yes' older works, I'd steer clear, but if not, you'll regret not buying it. Prog it most certainly is not, but a masterpiece? Most definetly.
