4 stars Absolutely great value for money. For those who want to explore this mighty band then this has to be a good place to start. Buy this and the First Generation CD and you will have a fairly comprehensive insight into VDGG. Then of course you will want to buy the rest of the catalogue if your converted and if not you have given this band a good listen. VDGG are now considered one of the most important of all the prog bands and it is a vindication of the hours many of us spent extolling the virtues of England's most interesting challenging and truly progressive band. My only complaint is that it features almost the whole of Godbluff which seems excessive. Even though, what a goody bag this is every track is a corker and most of it is uptempo dark rock. If you are serious about prog you will either want this compilation or all of the records that it represents. This and it companion First generations are a bargain that you really must own.
