UFO

All to often, Guru Guru are overlooked as the fathers of the German space rock genre, later labeled "krautrock". UFO, their debut album, is a psychedelic journey into the outer space, dripping with wild, psychedelic guitar solos, diverse bass playing, and exceptionally heavy drumming. The band relies just on these three instruments, which in conjunction with studio equipment and various effects allow them to create fascinating sonic landscapes. With that in mind, minimalism is one of the key elements to the distinctive sound of UFO. The work is mainly instrumental with only a few "mumbled" parts from the band's members. The highlights of the album are "Stone In" and "Der LSD/Marsch". An absolutely essential krautrock album! Highly recommended!
