3 stars Jonesy's third album was released only eight months after their second. And maybe it was released too soon, because I think this one is less interesting. On this album they make even more use of strings than they did on their second and a bit too much for me. The sound on this album is also more towards a pop approach. This can be heard on tracks like Growing and Hard Road. These are not bad pop songs, but will be less appealing to someone who likes a bit more adventure in his music. One of the better tracks are Can You Get That Together?, with great soloing from both guitar and trumpet. The absolute highlight however, probably from their entire career, is the long instrumental Jonesy. It brings us a combination of progressive rock with electric Miles-like trumpet playing. At times it sounds sinister, it is complex, sometimes annoying, but after all a fantastic track. As a whole, this is not their best album. It has got it moments, especially on the final track, but the first and second albums are better and more recommended.
