5 stars I played in a semi-successful local band in Chicago from '75 to '82 and was always impressed with these guys. We were going to cover a song or two, but it's hard to copy the original. This music was just to radical for most people, but I've always loved it. I wouldn't say it was ahead of it's time, but I would say it was just to extreme for the average listener. It grows on ya. If you listen to it a few times it really starts to be special. I now will listen to it a few times a year. And it's never background music. When it's on, I'm listening.

Cap't Beyond was doing the bar scene in the late 70's and I saw them once. Most of the people didn't even realize what they were seeing. It was really nice. They do a good live act and watching Bobby Caldwell is really something. He has to be my favorite drummer of all tiime! It was funny seeing people try to dance to this music, ha! I doubt they could have ever been a really big commercial band, just to radical and progressive!! And I always play it LOUD!
