To me, it sounds like they are taking a certain Gentle Giant approach to songwriting and changing up the instrumentation; heavy on the synths. Yet, Happy the Man are certainly their own and not simply a clone. The music is lush and full of headspinning counterpoint. I would recommend it to anyone, not to say that anyone would necessarily like it.
