5 stars I've only recently discovered Eloy thanks to the wonders of the internet, and I am completely dumbfounded as to how such a brilliant band can be so obscure (at least in the United States). This album and Dawn have blown my mind. Imagine a band that takes ingredients from Pink Floyd, Hawkwind, Can, Jethro Tull and ELP and cooks them up into a trippy, drugged- out, rocking stew of Kraut-psych deliciousness, but can also turn quiet and delicate and spacy and spooky, with eerie synth washes and haunting vocals.

They may be a bit of an acquired taste, and honestly, it took me a few listens to get it, but when I did, whoa! I became a full-blown addict. I mean how can I not be? These guys can rock like Deep Purple and then all of a sudden be drenching your ears in vintage synth swirls and lengthy acid-fried guitar solos and wistful enigmatic vocals.

Just exquisite.

And they're better than Pink FLoyd, IMO.
