2 stars The popularity of this band in Spain is reaching its peak, while the quality of their albums are seriously declining. But you know this story of course.

Llegó El Día is a standard Spanish rock album which features some good and emotional piece of music (De una Nana Siendo Niño), some listenable basic rock tunes (Desnuda La Mañana, Querida Niña) but also the most dull Spanish-reggae one (Perdido Por Las Calles). They did this already (twice!) on their previous album. This one isn't any better and is better skipped.

One of the most prog songs is Aires De Mi Canción: it features some symphonic music like they could release in their earlier career, but by now the song writing is not as good any longer and this song lacks of the grandeur of the early days and it holds only some bits and bytes of flamenco flavour.

I guess that one has to live with the fact that a rock ballad like the title track is one of the best musical moment from the album. It is a melancholic and tranquil song which lasts for over thirteen minutes. The children's choir at half time would have been best avoided but it introduces a fine guitar break which is one of the finest moment from this work. Not great but good.

Thanks to a couple of decent tracks, this album avoids the one star rating but this is not a good album. It is the last one of the first Triana period. The band will reach the cult status after the sudden death of their leader in a car crash. There will be reunion albums after this one though. But that's another story.

Two stars.
