BRIDGE ACROSS FOREVER

The story behind TRANSATLANTIC is well known. The band has members from NEAL MORSE (solo), SPOCK'S BEARD, KAIPA, THE FLOWER KINGS, DREAM THEATER and bands I am sure I have missed out. A supergroup in other words. This is their second studio album and it is a collective effort. The opening track is a twenty six minutes epic which includes all elements from the abovementioned bands + other greats like YES and GENESIS. Excellent song. The second song is also a great song.

The title track is a superb and very mooving ballad which moves me in my work for cancer research and the victims of this disease. I personally finds a lot of strengtht in this song and it makes me carry on in life. The closing song is the best song of the album. It is another twenty six minutes long song with a lot of changes of themes. I also finds a lot of influences from Soul and Gospel in that song. It is almost a religious song and far more tasteful than the in-your-face religious stuff NEAL MORSE has put out lately. The second vocals and main theme gives me goosebumps. The orchestration is brilliant too. This is one of the best prog tunes I have ever heard.

Overall, this is a superb album and one that I believe will grow on me during the next twenty years.
