5 stars Let me explain my point. If we consider that there is a prog pop subgenre - think of Supertramp and 10cc for example - and take the 80's prog albums as a kind of adaptation effort to post punk scenario, then we maybe could begin to see this album in a different perspective. In 1986 none of the greatest prog heroes were doing the same thing they did in the 70's. And not only prog has changed, all genres changed a lot as well. It's the market pressure, I know. But it's also the history of any kind of art, they all change with time. So it's just naive to expect that an album made by a prog band in 1986 would sound the same as one they made in 1976. What Genesis brings here is a well done, well played, well produced and honest and catchy blend of 80's pop with progressive elements. Maybe I'm too open minded and eclectic, but I give Invisible Touch 5 stars as a really strong prog pop album.
