5 stars There we have one of the very finest moments of this band. After symphonic, challenging Eldorado, E.L.O came with more song-oriented collection of songs, that varies from tender beautiful ballads, to classical music with dramatic symphonic storms, pop, rock 'n' roll and even country. Mastermind behind E.L.O, Jeff Lynne, explores new horizons with his romantic musical visions using and walls of violins, cellos, etc. and synthesizers. No weak songs there, all of them stand out in their own. My absolute favourites might be instrumental Fire on High (spooky in the places using 'backmasking' messages and killer acoustic riff), and wonderfully crafted ballad Strange Magic. Atmosphere of the album is on one hand nostalgic, on the other it sounds very fresh after those years.

This is also first album featuring great Kelly Groucutt, who recently sadly passed away. Not necessarily prog rock, but essential piece of music art. 4.5 stars.
