3 stars Although composed, recorded, and released in 1979, this album has an eighties feel. No wonder, since this lineup would be the one to tour into the next decade.

Compared with the Disco atrocity that was "Breathless", I feel like this one was half a step forward, not because Camel returned to its progressive roots, at least because it was less Disco and a little more pop. It doesn't seem like a step up, now that I mention it, but it's less dreadful. (I tolerate pop way better than Disco).

There are some pretty songs that, although devoid of the band's former glory deserve a special mention: "Wait" is a fair, energetic opener; "Eye of the Storm" is a mellow little instrumental that leaves a rather good aftertaste; "Who We Are" a seven-minute song feels a little overburdened with an orchestral arrangement, but it's still passable; the, say, "epic" track in the album, "Ice" features a really inspired Andy Latimer playing very emotional guitar passages.

The awful "Neon Magic" and one of the worst songs ever written and recorded by any band, "Remote Romance", almost plunged this album into the abyss of absolute rejection. Fortunately, the other ones barely rescued it.

My PA rating would be 2.5 stars, but I'll round it to 3 just to keep it ahead of "Breathless" level.
