3 stars Records like these are extremely hard to review - and possibly harder to rate!

The songs are mediocre and sometimes downright boring. Nothing here reminds the listener of old classical Focus material. Hell - if I knew how to use a modern computer-based musicprogram I think I could create better melodies than this elevetor-muzak sounding product.

BUT - and there is a "big" but - Akkerman uses his guitar with so much talent that one tend to forgive him for everything. He really is a master on his instrument. There are very few guitarrists that manages to impress on me as Mr Akkerman do. One of the things I like the most is that his solon never gets repetetive - and that is something I canīt say about most axemen out there. There is a constant flow of unexpected tones during his, often, long solos that makes them so very listenable.

The songs are not worth more than 1-2 on the rating scale, but the tones that Jan Akkerman delivers are worthy of a 5. There is one thing that is for sure, though - this album can only be appreciated by guitar freaks (like me). People looking for exciting music should beware!
