4 stars How could it possibly be, that the Santana we all know today, was once this? Musical evolution is a beautiful thing but it is painful in this case, fortunately we still have these brilliant early albums to enjoy.

This album is marked by its incredible Latin groove all along the album, always in a jamming mood, this album is also almost instrumental. The opener is a typical Latin jam, but better instrumentals come after, like the perfectly tied "Savor" and "Jingo". "Evil Ways" is the pop-single but it is amazing, incredibly addictive and really groovy, the best comes for last, "Soul Sacrifice" a fantastic instrumental with an amazing drum solo.

This is a great album, flows very nicely, amazing percussion with virtuoso guitar, fascinating, addictive, just lacks a bit of melody, no problem.
