5 stars God this is good.

This album is THE most underrated album ever made. It is superb 70's pop/rock. Most of them are covers; but that really doesnt matter. Two brooding and progish instrumentals stand as interludes in what is some of the finest rock ever.

Who even cares if its not prog, get your telescopes and try looking beyond. It's so dam good. The Dylan cover is a standout. On what is, as it goes, a not great Dylan song old Manfred manages to find a song so so much better than the origional. That was Manny's genius.

Covering Randy Newman and ol' Dr John, Mann manages to strech out these irresistable grooves that stand near the pinacle of 70's rock. Amazing. And when Manny hits you with his own cheeky number, Part TIme Man, you see the extent of his utter brilliance. Touching, highly clever and witty, endlessly and deceptively complex it stands as one of the greatest songs of all time. Captain Bobby Stout is the soundtrack to beautiful hell and California Coastline is so effortlessly cool. The good numbers just keep on rolling. Mann never bettered this. One of the best albums of the 70's - although two Beatles and some Stones and Dolls probably just edge it.

A classic, I urge you to listen, cause this is so true.
