5 stars Coma Divine is the first live CD by Steven Wilson and his merry men. Recorded in Italy during 1997 it is a great document of how the early live Porcupine Tree sounded. The live versions are very different from the studio ones (of wich most are only SW), containing jams, extended parts, and tons of more energy that in the studio. Rhytm section Chris Maitland and Colin Edwin delivers some heavy grooves, Steven Wilson and Richard Barbieri create some wonderful textures. The musicianship is one of the highlights on the CD, because the instruments are used creatively and in unique ways, particulary the drumming. The only "bad thing" about CD is that it only has one guitarist, resulting in the lack of acoustic guitar on some songs. However the amtosphere and ambience are in a league of their own, and this may very well be THE best live album (that i've heard, so far).
