is 'hoping love will last' one of the greatest love songs ever written? very possibly. The range of musicianship on the album is quite extraordinary. I have come back to this album after 25 years and almost feel guilty ignoring it for so long. The songs are timeless and do not sound dated at all. Inevitably will not be to everyone's taste with such a range of styles from neo-classical arrangements to soaring guitars but a great album with distictive, interesting songs with excellent guest vocals from Richie Havens and Randy Crawford on 'hoping love will last'
