5 stars By far my favorite Dream Theater album. A record of epic proportions. This album heavily borrows from the previous work, Metropolis Pt. II. That, because of how technical and heavy it is, while also being very dynamic and melodic.

Standouts are the all-round solid The Glass Prison, the solo buffet Blind Faith, the eccentric Misunderstood, and the epic The Great Debate, which features the best drum work in their discography in my opinion. The second side is one single forty two minute suite about mental disorders, which works amazingly and has one of my favorite Dream Theater tracks ever, Solitary Shell.

A cult classic, at least within Dream Theater fan groups. Five Stars!
