2 stars Here is my 5th review as I work my way through the Camel discography in random order. This album, The Single Factor, fits in, I believe, with Stationary Traveler- shorter compositions and more "poppy" music. Probably because of the personnel involved, this seems like a "lost" Alan Parsons album to me. Good, catchy melodie tunes with an instrumental song thrown into the mix now and then. Reasonable music, but poor by past Camel Prog standards. This IS NOT Moonmadness. This IS NOT Mirage. This IS NOT even Breathless. I remember being dissapointed when I first heard this, because coming off of Nude, I thought the old Camel was returning. If you look at the lineup of people who made this, it is very impressive. But, alas, it doesn't show in the product. Average. Average. Average..... Only a 2 star on this one. ANd maybe that is being a bit kind.
