5 stars This just might be the best postmetal album ever.

This third full-length studio album is perfect except for one little flaw, which is the last part of the album-ending epic Our Fortress Is Burning. This doesnīt really matter though, because itīs just the albums outro and every song before it is so perfect, that they more than make up for this little flaw.

The album(as well as postmetal in general) is best suited for grey depressing days such as this rainy one that Iīm living to day. The music dwells on at all times with slow/mid tempo and is filled with highly emotional, dark and passionate guitar playing. The guitarplaying is backed up by spot on drumming by John Haughm, who is also responsible for about half the guitars as well as all the vocals. The solid bass playing is provided by Jason William Walton. I have no idea what John sings on this album(lyrics mean nothing to me), but I sure love his growly whispered(?) vocals. He also shows occasionally that he can sing normally as well and also has a great voice for that too. I canīt highlight any songs because they are all so great.

This is one is highly recommended for anyone who likes melancholic music. Definate 5 stars.
