CHANNELING THE QUINTESSENCE OF SATAN

No less, no more. The music here is as exciting as a piece of black bread. This Austrian band's first albums is not particular progressive or even melodic. Abigor is very much in a Venom/Hellhammer adulation period here. There are some attempts of going a bit epic here, the Scandinavian way. But these attempts is quickly reigned in and normal service resumes.

The sound is pretty good though, being black metal anno 1999, and that saves this album from being a total disaster. The album and the devil worship rumbles on with guitars and hardly any synths at all. The vocals is the usual black metal vocals.

The word dull springs to mind when I am concluding my thoughts about this album. Abigor never made it big in the black metal scene and this album is a good indication why. There is far better black metal releases out there than this one.
