5 stars Caution Radiation Area is the band favourites choice, becouse of its avantagarde soul and the wide detachment from Arbeit Macht frei. Of course it's also my favourite one! Maybe the voice of Demetrio it's not present as other work like the precedent or Crac, but the same Demetrio said that for him this is the most important work with the band becouse of the wide improvised parts and the great study of the reserch of the best utilize of the own instruments. In the documentary "la voce stratos" it said that every band member was for their own in a part of the studio searching and studing new sonorities, tecniques and experimentation that then they will utilize for the recording.

The album opens with Cometa Rossa, my favourite Area song, This song have three principal block: first is the opening part which is an istrumental but short part full of musical acrobatics heavily influenced by arabian and mediterrean music. Just an awesome part, a musician will have this musical part in his mind every time and he will sure play it with its instrument!... it happent to me! Then, for me, we have one of the greatest singing in history, the voice of Demetrio here it's outstanding! Everyone who hear this will be impressed for his singing and its voice tecniques. The lyrics are in Greek; Demetrio wanted to rediscover his Greek roots with this song and he surely successed for this one. This song it's one of the greatest example of Demetrio's voice, an unforgettable singing which show some of the best "voice instrument" teqniques. The last part it's the same as begining just with a synth closing but this part it's so good that you don't mind to hear this track again couse it's so good and beautifull! This song it's AWESOME, a must to hear if you're an Area fan!

Next track is ZYG (crescita zero) which means "zero growth" in italian. The song open with some synth sounds made by the noise generator module, which create a factory atmosphere and then we hear Demetrio saying "L'estetica del lavoro è lo spettacolo della merce umana" which means "the aesthetics of the work is the spectacle of human goods". I don't know exactly what Demetrio wanted to say with this, maybe something about globalizzation or something similar. Area we're known for their messages but this one, for me, it's unclear. Then the drum starts with an amazing pattern and slowly the other instruments come in one at the time. It's a well improvised song, surely one of the best highlights of this LP, i like it a lot! For me, maybe this can be one of the roots of some violent eletrical music like aphex twin or prodigy for the fast battery, for the synth and voice opening and other stuff. It just a mine opinion. The second part it's once againg spectacular, Fariselli plays a riff and then the song changes again. There is a great bass work here and Demetrio plays the phrases with his voice like an instrument. This song again it's wonderfull!

Then we have Brujo, which is "wizard" in spanish. This song open with a complex synth riff, which i can't play still today! This song it's a lot experimental, it's full of free improvisations and strange passages. There is some great guitar and synth riffs and a fantastic rhodes piano solo. The track ends with some very strange Demetrio reciting singing using as always the best of his abilities. This final part it's kinda scary. The song is once again great!

MIRage? Mirage! it's another wide improvised track, you can see some great drum passages and voice experimentations that will sure keep you listening this track. There is no much to say about this track, it's similar to brujo but more complex with less composed parts, it's much more imporvised for sure. It's not a song for everyone but if you love Area you will love this.

Last song it's lobotomia. It's a song which will grind your ears, but you'll understand that this is a ingenious composition. It's a "song" made for a guy called U.T. who was meanaced of sugical death by the dutch goverment, and this song i think want to represent the oppression made for this guy. For many persons this is the greatest highlight of this LP. It's something of incredible that only Area could create.

This album it's a must to have in every collection! A classic italian progressive rock which contain a great message against the metropolitan life and the mercification of the man itself! In 2009 this album (and the other Area's album only made by cramps) are came out in a new CD edition which reproduct the original LP and contain the same evelope which contained the vinyl record and Cramps badge, all for a very good price! A good occasion to rediscover this piece of history! Raccomanded to every RPI, jazz and avantgarde lover!
