CAPTAIN BEYOND

Captain beyond is a prog rock supergroup. The band are: Rod Evans who appeared in Deep Purple first albums, Rhino Rhinehardt and Lee Dorman of Iron Butterfly, and Bobby Caldwell from the Johnny Winter band. They had 3 albums. This one is their first. It's very much into hard rock with touces of prog. The album is a bit short - 37 minutes long, but it's a quick fantastic journey. The songs are very powerful, and they don't have any breaks between them, so it's like one big concert. There are no keyboards but guitars. Rod Eavns sings with all his heart, and he does it well. All in all it's another left over band which deserves to be on the front stage. From the first song - "dancing madly backwards" to "frozen over" and the final "as the moon speaks" and "I can't feel nothin" - it's a magic trip, full of rythem, rock and power. Electrifying!
