3 stars This is not as bad as everybody uses to blame it! To my taste Conquest shows a very different blend that could be the structure of U. Heep for years but it wasn´t.. Just because, Ken hensley frontally collided with the vocal talent of John Sloman (singer that remindes me Glenn Hughes sometimes). The band as unity was very confuse by that time, but the album deserved better commercial luck.. Some melodies are really catchy and the performances were better than in the previous albums. Some fast songs are interesting (Carry on, etc..) and some songs are really interesting when Sloman dive in the funkier vocal style. Very different Heep, with Chris Slade on drums.. unfortunately this incarnation of the band has been born dead.
