EYEWITNESS

the first of a pair of Royal Hunt albums (along with Paper Blood) that doesnt really have different songs.

what i mean by that is that, while all the material is strong and above-average, all of it is quite similar and you dont quite identify individual songs. so, you end up listening to it as one 45-minute song...

...until, that is, you come to track number 10 - the title-track "Eyewitness". this is one intriguing song and one is left to wonder why the band didnt explore this direction further. we all know they are quite capable of it. the screaming vocal after the quiet vocal-driven first few minutes is blood curdling and fascinating...if i had this only on tape, i would have worn out that section in a couple of days...
