Hogweed Returns
5 stars This is my first review and why do I want to review this album? The answer is simple: for me it's a masterpiece. Kansas is at their best on this album and side 1 of the LP (yes I'm from the old generation) is the one that gives me that magic feeling over and over again...it's almost perfect and blew me away from the start. It's one long epic with the beautiful closer "Closet Chronicles". Top vocals from Steve Walsh and the rest of the band is at high level and show their skills. Side 2 is the one that I nowadays appreciate more and more and the first four songs are more commercial, though they are very different from each other. "Dust In The Wind" is the one we know best and is played too much on the radio, but still a great song. The closer "Hopelessly Human" becomes more and more a favorite of mine and is a real symphonic prog piece. Leftoverture is good, but for me this one is better...5 magic stars.
