3 stars I think that Adrian Belew inyects a new energy into King Crimson. Superb guitar player and owner of a singular voice, he has a interesting career with various solo albums. Well, "Desire of the Rhino King" is a way to know the best songs of his three first recordings of the late 80's. With some remains of "Discipline" and "Three of a Perfect Pair", the truth is that Belew has a singular sound and many songs of this album are really avant garde. "Lone Rhinoceros" is an excellent song, with great lyrics and a constant sense of melancholy. "Big Electric Cat" it's an interesting experiment with mixes of voices an guitars. "Swingline" is very close of the songs of Mr. Bungle. "She is not Dead" is a great song full of sadness and hallucinating arrangements, so "Ballet for the Blue Whale", a sang full of sea athmospheres and maybe the most quiet song of the album. The last five pieces are very experimental and very close to the B' sides of the 80's Crimson.

At last, maybe it's the right way to beggin to know who is Adrian Belew as a musician...
