5 stars The greatest rock music album of all time?I have heard it said many times by prog fans. The thing about Close To The Edge is not only the technical abilty but the lovely symphonic lush ebb and flow.If Yes has a chink in the armor it is the songwriting. At times it can be a touch cheesy at time but not on Close To The Edge.My favorite is Siberian Khatru.Steve Howe shows why he is the best axman in rock music and the vocals make me think of cold, clear and clean siberia.Did Genesis have better vocals?I say yes.Did ELP or Vandergraff Generater match Yes musically?Maybe but none can say they where a better band overall.Yes is the Led Zep of progrissive rock.Like Genesis,Roxy Music and others Yes hurt themselves by going pop in the 1980's.who can say they blame them everyone deserves a big paycheck and they got one.
