2 stars What's the difference between a shiraz priced at five pounds and a shiraz priced at thirty pound ? The snobbery & brand name. That feature on today's BBC website is what this album reminded me about when trying to express any views on this album.

Ulver started out as the thinking man's black metal band and changed style to post rock, electronica and film music after two or so albums. They have lately gigged both in Norway and abroad.

It is a possibility that Ulver is the thinking man ........., fill in the blank space. On this album, they fills up an album with low key music based on piano and some vocals. The music is pedestrian and based on moods and some attempts of trying to paint a windswept landscape. This painting looks more like a sleeping moose at dawn.

The quality is fairly decent and only that. My main gripe is that; the lack of quality. This album is so pedestrian it can send speed/amphetamine taking freaks to sleep. And yes, I have been listening and sleeping to it a lot. The first song Eos has some quality. The rest feels like a knock offs from a, insert the name of any post rock band here, record.

In short, this album is too pedestrian to be good. Neither does it manage to create any worthwhile ambience either. Hence me breaking the idyllic party on the lawn like a charging bull (with my sprinkling of stars).
