GAUCHO

It is always hard for a group to follow up what is considered a "classic" album, and this is what Steely Dan had to accomplish after AJA. So, in, 1980, we have GAUCHO. As good as AJA? No, not really. But it is also NOT a bad album by any means. There is some really nice music contained here- "Babylon SIsters", "Hey Nineteen", "Gaucho" being the best. "Gaucho" is the best song here IMHO. The intensity of AJA seems to be missing somewhat here, and there are some weaker tracks that AJA didn't really have, but this is a solid outing from Steely Dan, and the last thing that they did that I know much about. 3 stars (really 3 1/2).
