3 stars probably the weakest DT effort since the debut but it still have some good stuff.

the only studio album (actually, the only one not counting A Change Of Seasons, which was an EP) with Derek Sherinian and the difference is telling. there is very little atmosphere in any of the songs and the keyboard work is mostly intros and solos.

from the quaint opening of New Millenium, you know for sure something different is coming up...if this were not DT and not the follow-up to Awake, you'd be forgiven for thinking its really good. in fact, some new fans may have quite appreciated the more accessible stuff like You Not Me or Hollow Years.

there are several good tracks, however: New Millenium (once the odd intro grows on you) Peruvian Skies Take Away My Pain (not quite a DT ballad, but a really lovely song all the same) and the multi- part closer Trial of Tears
