4 stars Didn't really like 'Peak Hour' it seemed a bit noisy/jangly compared to the rest of the album. However, it was a 'concept album', so as part of an unfolding day, it had it's place on the album. Most of the songs feature very lush orchestration, which I'm a sucker for. On the whole, this is a thouroughly enjoyable album. I've sung 'Tuesday Afternoon' at a karaoke. Unfortunately the karaoke version, although very good, is truncated, so just as I'm winding up for the full dose of passion in this highly emotive, passionate, sacred sounding, anthemic song, it fizzles out.

'Twilight time' is hypnotic, as is the 'Sunset'. Nights in White Satin is probably their most famous song, the flute playing kind of envelopes you in a balloon that reminds me of the effect that Nilsson's 'Everybody's Talking ' used to have.

This was the album that saw the introduction of Hayward and Lodge, the REAL Moody Blues as far as I'm concerned. "Go Now' may have gotten to number one in the UK singles chart, but obviously with a different line up, it sounds like a totally different group, and much more basic.

If you like light, syrupy, classical music, good harmonies, lyrics, well produced songs, this is a must have.
