3 stars Night Cloud from Italy is an obscure progressive metal band with only one album released so far in 2004 named Defeated By The Innocents issued at Steelheart records. Well , I like what I've heared here, progressive metal with hints of some power metal here and there. The main attraction, at least to me, are the guitar parts, the duo Massimiliano Seghesio and Daniele Ferro done a great job for sure. The album is instant catchy with memorable parts, the keyboards aswell are more then ok, and combined with the rest the result is apretty decent release, in places even great. Solid musicianship, good voice, remind me in manner of composing with another italian bands like Oracle Sun, Hemispheres or Orion Riders. The album contains aswell their EP The last night, 4 pieces from their first recording two years ago. Some highlights to me are the instrumentals Death and Existential Disease, good passges, very good guitars parts, all in all great and some pieces with voice like Damned night, Conscience and Guilty Of Intelligence, the combination of acustic guitar with more edgy parts are intresting with some flamenco passages here and there gives a good atmosphere overall. Some symphonic prog metal arrangements are present in the mix, intresting band in the end. A totaly forgotten album, while their release is ok, decent, I can't say is something really excellent, is good with some parts being more then ok.
