3 stars Living in Germany you couldn't ignore this album otherwise you were deaf dumb and blind. I always liked this one, not necessarily as a classic prog-album although it has it's proggy moments. This one is more easy listening pop/rock style taking the band in a new direction after Wooly Wolstenholme had left. The blend of old BJH elements and a somewhat poppy approach did work for this album and for me. It didn't on the following albums when the band became more and more a smash in Germany while everyone else (incl. me) lost interest. "Eyes of the universe" is nice to listen to. I never understood why it was not remastered. Unfortunately the remastering efforts of Polydor (now Universal) ended with it's predecessor "XII". But then has anyone ever come behind Universal's remastering policy ?
