FACE THE MUSIC

Fire on High is another top opener by ELO that's up there with 'Tightrope' on 'A New World Record'. This one is a sort of 'Duelling Banjos' but guitars versus violins. One to crank up! What a guitar sound! It goes off at quite a pace, and this one track alone is nearly worth the price of the rest of the album. But the following track, Waterfall, whilst much more sedate, lives up to it's lyrics as it 'pulls you in'. Followed by the over-familiar 'Evil Woman', then the OK 'Nightrider'.

'Strange Magic' is a pretty pop song, and the final track 'One Summer Dream' is appropriately haunting. A solid, enjoyable album, and my favourite along with ANWR and 'Discovery'.
