3 stars Welcome to the early 70ī! This album belongs there, itīs roots are there. In the glorious days of Pink Floyd and this album is like a remembering of those days. First "side" is pure Pink Floyd material, it would be done after Wish You Were Here and nobody would wonder. Or some songs would belong to Obscured by Clouds -album. Other "side" is something else, takes space to Floyd but not very far. Itīs more like 60 years old man thinking of life without hurry. Peacefull, beautiful but little dull, too. There is no hurry anywere.

Somehow it seems that Gilmour first was making a Pink Floyd album but then decided make it a solo album. Or he wantīs to show all that it was not only Waters who was behind Dark Side or Wish You Were Here or Meddle. Gilmour was the voice and the quitar of Pink Floyd but very important composer too. He is little bit unterrated and Waters is overrated of how important they were for Floyd. Waters become a frontman of the band in the Animals album, not before. Till then they made the music together, Wright allso, many forgets him as a composer. Donīt forget the man who made the Great Gig in the Sky!

This album has two faces and thatīs why the clue is a little bit missing. Last songs have not so many hooks and you must concentrade to listen harder. Gilmour lives in the shadows of Pink Floyd, he canīt get himself out of there or he donīt even want to. This is allmost a Pink Floyd album but not quite. But itīs more Pink Floyd album than David Gilmours album. Or David Gilmour is and was Pink Floyd! Perhaps that is what he is saying and wantīs to say to us. And it is more or less, true. Not bad, but this could be better.
