KID A

Coming off of the excellent OK Computer, Radiohead devolve into the derivative, muddled, and pretentious mess that is Kid A. This album isn't doing anything that hasn't been done before, it simply has the benefit of being presented to a mass audience. These boys are in over their heads and their mimicry of Autechre & Aphex Twin is sloppy and uninspired, sounding like...well...musicians who don't know what they're doing. The album's saving grace is the brilliant production of Nigel Godrich, whose feel for texture and ambience prevents this album from COMPLETELY sucking.
