5 stars This album is the absolute peak of SB's music, along with The Kindness Of Strangers. What you have here is greatly produced symphonic prog, with Yes-Pink Floyd-Kansas influence, great musicianship and some Beatle-esque pop melodies here and there. The band sound more energetic and powerfull than ever, specially Nick's drums, which remind me to Alan White. The two epics (At The End Of The Day and The Great Nothing) feature stunning instrumental intros, multiple sections with very inspired vocal melodies and great solo work, specially on guitar and Hammond Organ. Thoughts part 2 is probably their best Gentle Giant-like song ever, with a harder edge. and the harmonized vocal parts are simply amazing. As for the other short songs, all of them contain outstanding melodies and hooks, and no filler. This album is a must-have for any symphonic prog follower. A classic of modern prog.
